About the Role
Lockwood Vets in Willenhall is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join the team on a permanent basis. The role includes periods of sole charge, so you will need to be confident working independently when required, while also contributing to the mentoring of a new graduate.
You will work across a varied caseload with 15 minute consults, no more than 18 appointments per day per vet on average, and a balanced split between surgery and medicine. There is dedicated operating time every day, with flexibility to accommodate emergency procedures when needed.
This is a full time or part time opportunity, with flexible working patterns to discuss. There are no out of hours or on call responsibilities, and only minimal Saturday cover is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality patient and client care across a varied small animal caseload.

Requirements
- Veterinary degree and registration, or eligibility to register, with the RCVS.
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
- Confidence to work independently during sole charge periods.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.

About the Practice
Lockwood Vets, Willenhall is part of IVC Evidensia and treats dogs, cats and small pets. The site is well equipped with dental X-ray, a theatre, in house laboratory facilities and ultrasound.
The team includes four highly experienced RVNs working across full and part time roles, alongside a Senior Veterinary Surgeon and a New Graduate Veterinary Surgeon. The practice also runs a range of nurse clinics and is looking to develop these further, with potential to introduce Schedule 3 work for the nursing team. One RVN holds the ISFM certificate, and certificate support may be explored for the right candidate.
