This is a small animal Veterinary Surgeon role with plenty of variety. You will work across four practices in the region, seeing a diverse caseload and getting to know clients and patients across the local community.
The position includes a mix of consultations and surgery, with cases ranging from routine first opinion work through to emergency and critical care. The main hospital in Crewkerne is purpose-built and well equipped, and there is also a visiting orthopaedic specialist involved in more advanced surgical cases.
The role is full-time, 40 hours per week across four days, with a 1:3 Saturday morning rota from 8:30am to 1pm on a sole-charge basis. Part-time applicants working 30+ hours per week will also be considered, and there are no out-of-hours requirements.
Kingfisher Veterinary Practice is a traditional privately run practice with strong links to the local community. The small animal side operates as Kingfisher Vets, part of IVC, and the practice has been caring for pets in the area for more than 100 years.
The main hospital is in Crewkerne, Somerset, and the wider practice is a progressive four centre group. The team includes 9 Veterinary Surgeons, 18 RVNs and a dedicated Client Care Team, with a visiting orthopaedic specialist supporting more advanced surgical work.
