About the Role
Kirks Vets is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their clinical team in Sleaford, a bustling market town with easy access to Lincoln's nightlife and London by train. This full-time position offers 40 hours across just 4 days per week (Monday to Friday), with a 1-in-6 Saturday rota and time off in lieu to balance your schedule. You'll be part of a practice that genuinely prioritises patient care and colleague support, with access to impressive facilities including four large consulting rooms, two operating theatres, digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, and an internal lab.
As an integral member of the clinical team, you'll deliver high-quality nursing care to first opinion cases, work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and practice staff, and contribute to the ongoing development of patient care standards. This is a role where your clinical confidence will grow, supported by experienced colleagues in a values-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nurse clinics and manage inpatient care
- Provide theatre support and surgical nursing assistance
- Support imaging and laboratory work
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to a range of small animal cases
- Build positive relationships with clients and contribute to excellent client experiences
- Take responsibility for clinical standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
- Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
- Team-orientated and motivated approach to delivering high standards of care
