About the Role
You'll be joining a well-established small animal practice in Murieston, Livingston, ideally positioned between Edinburgh and Glasgow with easy transport links via two nearby train stations. This full-time role works 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a flexible rota between 8am–7pm, plus a 2 in 9 Saturday rota (8am–5pm). Crucially, there are no out-of-hours or on-call duties—allowing you to maintain genuine work-life balance.
The practice is offering a £1,000 welcome bonus or relocation allowance to support your move, and will also consider part-time arrangements for the right candidate. You'll become part of a committed team of 8 vets, 13 nurses, 2 veterinary care assistants, and 8 support staff who genuinely value collaboration and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with theatre and surgical procedures across a range of general practice cases
- Perform radiography and dental X-ray imaging
- Deliver general inpatient care in dedicated dog and cat wards
- Conduct nurse-led consultations with clients and patients
- Manage pharmacy operations and stock control
- Support the wider team with clinical and administrative tasks
- Work within a fully equipped practice featuring digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, multiparameter monitoring, and a dedicated theatre
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification (RCVS registered)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to high standards of animal care and professional practice
- Experience in small animal general practice (preferred but not essential)

Lamond Veterinary Clinic was first established in East Calder in 1952 and has been based in purpose-built premises in Murieston, Livingston since 1993. The practice is part of IVC Evidensia and provides comprehensive small animal veterinary care in a modern, hygienic, and comfortable environment. The clinic is fully equipped with a dedicated theatre, digital radiography, dental X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment, multiparameter monitoring, and separate dog and cat wards to support species-specific care.
