A 12-month fixed-term small animal vet role with a varied caseload, monthly surgical support from a peripatetic surgeon, and a full-time rota across 4 or 5 days. You will also have exposure to advanced cardiac workups and more complex surgery while working within a refurbished practice.
This is a 12-month fixed-term veterinary surgeon role with Lawrence Veterinary Centre, covering maternity leave on a full-time basis. You will work with a varied small animal caseload, with a strong mix of consultations and surgery, and the chance to support ongoing patient care within the practice.
Alongside routine procedures including staged dentistry, you will also see advanced cardiac workups and more complex surgical cases. A peripatetic surgeon visits monthly to carry out orthopaedics and advanced soft tissue surgery, giving you the opportunity to broaden your clinical skills while delivering high-quality care.
The rota is 40 hours per week across 4 or 5 days, with weekday shifts between 8.00am and 7.00pm and 2 in 9 Saturday mornings from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
Lawrence Veterinary Centre is based in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, and is part of inspiring vet care. The wider group is described as the UK’s number one vet care provider and cares for over 2 million animals.
The practice has been fully refurbished and includes a dedicated cat-only clinic on the same site. The cat clinic has its own separate waiting room, prep area and theatre, and is equipped with dental x-ray, digital x-ray, ultrasound and Idexx lab equipment. The team includes 10 vets, including certificate holders in cardiology and feline medicine, 11 RVNs, 1 VCA, plus reception and support staff. The practice also has a close-knit family feel, with many team members having been there for over 10 years.
