About the Role
This is a dedicated internal medicine position allowing you to fully immerse yourself in one discipline and take ownership of your development. You'll work with a diverse and medically complex caseload in a referral-style environment, gaining focused experience beyond general practice. The role is ideal for an RVN who enjoys inpatient care, case continuity, and being closely involved in patient progress and outcomes.
Working full-time across a structured rota, you'll be scheduled between 8am and 8pm with a 1:8 weekend pattern and days off in the following week. You'll have one designated bank holiday per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex and varied internal medicine cases including endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disease, respiratory conditions, renal and urinary cases, infectious diseases, chronic case management, and oncology-related conditions
- Provide inpatient nursing care with focus on case continuity and patient outcomes
- Perform diagnostics and advanced nursing techniques under clinical guidance
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and departmental improvement initiatives
- Participate actively in your own professional development and learning pathway
Requirements
- Qualified RVN (RCVS registered)
- At least 1 year post-qualification experience
- Strong interest in internal medicine and inpatient care
- Referral experience beneficial but not essential
- Proactive and motivated approach to learning
- Open to less experienced candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, commitment, and enthusiasm for the discipline
Training and Support
