Night Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

You'll join an established night team at Veterinary Specialists Scotland, a multi-disciplinary referral hospital located at Deer Park in Livingston, conveniently positioned between Edinburgh and Glasgow off the M8 motorway. This part-time night position operates a 4 on, 8 off shift pattern (6pm to 6am), delivering excellent work-life balance alongside consistent continuity of care for your patients.

As a night RVN, you'll provide high-quality nursing care to critically unwell patients in ICU and ward settings. Your varied caseload spans multiple specialist services including internal medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, cardiology, and soft tissue, giving you the opportunity to develop and demonstrate a broad range of clinical nursing skills. The practice is committed to your professional development, offering comprehensive induction support and extensive resources to help you reach your full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critical patients in ICU and ward environments
• Support patients across multiple specialist services: internal medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, cardiology, and soft tissue
• Work as part of an established night team, ensuring continuity and consistency of care
• Contribute to the mentoring and training of colleagues
• Maintain clinical standards and passion for patient welfare

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Highly motivated self-starter with strong clinical drive
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
• Genuine inclination to learn and develop clinical skills continuously
• Passion for mentoring and supporting colleagues
