Ready to join a friendly, supportive nursing team with genuine variety in your day-to-day work? This maternity cover role offers exposure to advanced procedures, mentorship from experienced colleagues, and the choice to shape your own rota.
Choice of 1:10 nights rota or 1:13 weekends rota at Warwick hospital (paid in addition to salary). Saturday mornings 1:8 at branch level depending on requirements.
You'll be joining Avonvale Veterinary Centres' talented nursing team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. This full-time position offers meaningful work with genuine clinical variety. The practice benefits from multiple certificate-holding veterinary surgeons in surgery, imaging, and medicine, so you'll see a wide range of cases and advanced nursing techniques rather than routine work alone.
The nursing team is notably experienced and collaborative, with some colleagues having worked at the practice for over 35 years. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills alongside nurses with specialist interests in anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, and behaviour. The practice operates full nurse utilisation, so your role will span surgical support, anaesthesia, patient consultations, and scheduled medications, keeping your day varied and professionally rewarding. You'll also work alongside dedicated Patient Care Assistants who support your team in delivering the highest standards of care.
Out-of-hours work is included. You can choose between a 1:10 nights rota or 1:13 weekends rota based at the Warwick hospital (both paid in addition to salary), plus Saturday mornings on a 1:8 rota at branch level depending on individual site requirements. You'll need your own transport and a self-motivated approach to thrive in this role.
