Ready to lead by example without leaving the clinic? This is a senior role where mentoring happens naturally, the team talks things through properly, and your clinical skills are valued just as much as your ability to help others grow.
1:4 Saturday mornings (weekend day work, not overnight on-call). Time off in lieu provided. No overnight OOH shifts.
This is a hands-on senior clinical position at a practice that genuinely believes in supporting vets at every stage of their career. You'll manage a varied small animal caseload while playing a key mentoring role with junior vets and recent graduates. Working a 4-day week with 1:4 Saturday mornings (time off in lieu) and no overnight on-call, you'll have real capacity to invest in your team and yourself.
Mentoring is woven into daily practice here. The team protects time for it—there are dedicated case discussions every two weeks, plus informal opportunities to talk through cases and learn together. This isn't a separate responsibility tacked on; it's how St Clair Vets works.
St Clair Vets is a friendly, RCVS-accredited small animal practice with two branches and an in-house ophthalmology referral team (Vet Vision). The caseload is varied and interesting, with excellent access to specialist advice and CPD through Vet Services Scotland. Culture matters deeply here—the team values kindness, communication and mutual support. As an established nurse training practice with a structured new graduate programme, mentoring and learning are central to how they work.
Based in Fife with easy access to Edinburgh, beaches and countryside, the practice balances professional excellence with quality of life. St Clair Vets is part of Linnaeus and Mars Veterinary Health, the largest family-owned veterinary company in the world. This means you'll have access to a huge network of specialists, worldwide development opportunities and a comprehensive wellbeing package—all while maintaining the values and culture that make St Clair special.
