Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a Veterinary Surgeon role for someone who wants a stronger focus on surgery within a small animal practice. The full-time rota is four days across 40 hours, with no out-of-hours commitment and a 1:4 Saturday rota from 8:30am to 4:00pm with time back in lieu. Part-time hours are also available for the right candidate.

You'll be based mainly at the Woking site, with occasional travel to the Addlestone and Bagshot branches. The role includes a varied mix of consulting and surgery, from routine neutering and lump removals through to soft tissue surgery, and the practice is open to shaping the workload around consult-only or surgery-focused strengths.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of patient and client care across a varied small animal caseload.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team.
• Carry out a healthy balance of consulting and surgery.
• Take part in surgery cases including routine neutering, lump removals and soft tissue surgery.
• Contribute to the clinical culture of the practice and support colleagues.
• Travel occasionally to the Addlestone and Bagshot branches when required.

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register.
• Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive approach to learning and development.
• Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

About the Practice

Lynton House Vets has been part of the Woking community for over 70 years, with a local village vet reputation and a history that began in the mid-1940s. The group operates across three practices, and the Woking team moved into a brand new practice in Well Lane, Horsell in 2018.

The Woking site is a purpose-built, hospital-standard practice with separate cat and dog waiting areas and consult rooms, a designated cat consultation room, a private bereavement suite, spacious prep areas, two theatres, dedicated imaging and lab spaces, comfortable wards, ultrasound including VVS scans, digital and dental X-ray, multiparameters, a dedicated admin office and a large staff room with its own kitchen. The practice is part of Inspiring Vet Care, a group made up of over 900 practices and referral hospitals.
