Looking for a small animal role with real clinical freedom and no out of hours? This independent Worcestershire practice could be a strong next step if you want support, variety and proper time to develop.
No regular OOH, all out of hours covered by Vets Now. One 7 pm finish every two weeks for emergency calls before Vets Now opens, usually phone triage. Weekends are shared on a 16-week rota, including two Saturdays (8.30 am to 4.30 pm) and two Saturday/Sunday weekends (Saturday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Sunday 10 am to 2 pm).
This is an opportunity for a small animal vet with some experience to join a 14-vet team at MacArthur Barstow & Gibbs. The practice offers the chance to work on complex surgical and medical cases in-house, with support from experienced colleagues and visiting clinicians, so you can keep building your skills while enjoying a varied caseload.
You’ll be based within an independent GP practice that has a strong community presence and a genuinely collaborative feel. The role includes a 4-day rota with no OOH, plus a fixed day off, and there is protected admin time built into the day so you are usually away by 6.30 pm.
The small animal team works across the main surgery in Droitwich and two additional clinics, with a long-standing interest in developing clinical services in-house. If you enjoy case variety, learning from certificate holders and being supported to grow in a practice that invests in its people and equipment, this is worth a closer look.
MacArthur Barstow & Gibbs is an independent, vet-owned practice that has been established for over 60 years and has served the local area for more than six decades. It operates across four purpose-built premises and has developed from its mixed practice roots into a business that still combines traditional veterinary care with a broad range of more specialised in-house services.
The team includes five certificate holders, supported by seven other vets, 9 RVNs and 2 SVNs, plus visiting clinicians and peripatetic specialists. The practice website is mbgvet.com, and the Droitwich base is in Worcestershire.
