🕐 Schedule & Rota

1 in 6 weekends and bank holidays; 2nd on-call rota to support dedicated night team

About the Role

You’ll be joining Medivet Alfreton as a full-time Veterinary Surgeon, working 40 hours per week within a large, cohesive team of 14 vets, 18 RVNs, 3 VCAs, and 7 receptionists. This 24-hour hospital offers a structured rota: 1 in 6 weekends and bank holidays, plus a 2nd on-call commitment to support the dedicated night team.

Your week will blend three types of work: two days focusing on ward vet responsibilities, with the remaining days split between consulting and theatre work. The practice attracts vets with interests across cardiology, surgery, internal medicine, and ophthalmology—many colleagues hold or are pursuing relevant certificates. You’ll have access to six consulting rooms, separate dog and cat wards, three sterile theatres, dedicated diagnostic suites, dental facilities, and digital imaging. Part-time arrangements are genuinely considered, so flexible conversations are welcome.
