Client Care Assistant

About the Role

You'll be the first point of contact for clients walking through the door or calling the practice—the person who sets the tone for their entire visit. This full-time permanent role based in Shrewsbury includes a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota and a flexible mix of early and late shifts, so you'll need to be adaptable and willing to meet the practice's needs across different times of the day.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients on arrival and manage reception duties with warmth and efficiency
• Answer client phone calls promptly and manage incoming messages
• Triage emergency appointments, assessing urgency and rearranging slots as needed to keep the diary flowing
• Update patient records accurately and keep the appointment system current
• Manage the practice diary to optimise appointment availability based on team skillsets
• Process repeat prescription requests from clients
• Work collaboratively within the team and support colleagues across a busy practice
• Cover 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and work a mixture of early and late shifts

Requirements

• Excellent client-facing and reception skills with a genuine ability to provide exceptional care
• Good numeracy skills and confidence using online appointment booking systems
• Ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, and stay flexible
• Team player mentality and willingness to learn and develop
• Previous veterinary receptionist experience is desirable but not essential
