Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Medivet, you'll take the lead on nurse-led appointments while supporting the veterinary team with procedures and patient care. This is a full-time position in a busy small animal practice where clinical excellence and teamwork are central to everything the team does. You'll be accountable for delivering exceptional care to clients and patients every day, working as part of a small, collaborative clinic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage nurse-led appointments independently
• Support veterinarians with surgical procedures and operations as required
• Monitor patients during treatment and manage admissions and discharges under veterinary direction
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Complete pre and post-operative care and ensure all procedures are properly documented
• Provide daily patient care including walking, toileting, and feeding
• Arrange patient transfers to out-of-hours providers when necessary
• Dispense and check medications under veterinary supervision
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety and regulatory standards
• Take samples and package lab tests as directed by the veterinarian
• Manage stock rotation and maintain back-of-house preparation for procedures
• Participate in daily team briefings to coordinate clinic operations
• Support the adoption of nurse-led services to enhance clinic capacity and patient care

Requirements

• RCVS registered veterinary nurse
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated coaching and influencing abilities to support colleagues
• Capability to deliver exceptional client and patient care consistently
• Flexibility to undertake additional duties as required, where you have the necessary skills and experience
