Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This full-time RVN position is based at Medivet Little Hadham in Ware, Hertfordshire, where you’ll join a friendly and dedicated team in a thriving 3-vet practice supported by 2 RVNs and 3 SVNs.

The practice is open Monday to Saturday and sees a broad mix of cases, including routine procedures, dentals, lump removals and heart scans. Your week is built around 9.5-hour shifts across four days, plus a 1 in 6 weekend rota at Medivet’s Enfield 24-Hour Hospital, with alternating early and late shifts.

You’ll be hands-on across the practice, with nurse consults, surgery support and a varied mix of clinical and client-facing work. It’s suited to a proactive nurse who enjoys being part of a close-knit team and taking on a broad remit.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out nurse consults and support schedule 3 activities.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures, including pre and post procedure tasks.
• Monitor patients and provide day-to-day nursing care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Support reception duties and in-house admin tasks when needed.
• Take patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care when relevant.
• Help brief and co-ordinate the team to support the smooth running of the practice.

Requirements

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Confident working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience supporting nurse consults.
• Experience using coaching and influencing skills to support colleagues.
