Veterinary Care Assistant

About the Role

You’ll be a key part of this small but dynamic St. Albans practice, supporting the nursing and veterinary teams with in-patient care and procedures. Your day will involve direct patient care—walking, feeding, and monitoring—alongside assisting with surgeries and clinical procedures. Some weekend and Bank Holiday working is required to support the wider Medivet network, including the Watford 24-hour hospital.

This is a full-time position where you’ll work within a collaborative team environment, delivering exceptional care to both clients and patients while maintaining the highest regulatory and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional client-facing care during surgeries and clinical procedures
• Monitor, walk, feed, and care for in-patient animals with attention and compassion
• Support the nursing and veterinary team in daily clinical operations
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture

Requirements

• Passion for animal care and exceptional client service
• Ability to remain calm and prioritise under pressure
• Flexibility and willingness to learn
• Strong team player mindset
• Must be over 18 years old (due to health and safety requirements of the role)
