Veterinary Care Assistant

About the Role

You’ll be at the heart of the practice, supporting nurses and vets with in-patient procedures and delivering compassionate pet care. This is a full-time position where you’ll work alongside a collaborative team, learning practical skills while making a real difference to patients and their owners every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional care to patients during surgeries and procedures, maintaining compliance with all regulatory and practice standards
• Monitor and care for in-patients, including walking, toileting, feeding, and general welfare checks
• Support the nursing and veterinary team in daily clinical operations
• Maintain a high standard of client communication and pet care throughout your shift
• Work flexibly and collaboratively within a supportive team environment

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or over (due to Health and Safety Executive guidance on the physical demands of the role)
• Passion for pet care and excellent client-facing skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
• Team player with a willingness to learn and develop
• Flexible approach to working hours
