About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week with a one-in-three weekend rota, offering genuine flexibility to suit your lifestyle. You’ll be joining Medivet Bamber Bridge, a recently renovated modern first-opinion practice in a thriving suburban location with excellent access to Manchester, Liverpool, and the Lake District—ideal if you want rewarding clinical work alongside the freedom to actually enjoy your personal time.

The practice has invested significantly in its facilities and team, creating an environment where nursing excellence is genuinely valued. You’ll work alongside a five-vet team (including a three-times certificate holder in surgery) and a strong nursing support team, all committed to delivering high standards of care while maintaining a collaborative, supportive culture.

This role offers significant scope to develop advanced clinical skills. The practice regularly offers opportunities to assist with orthopaedic and laparoscopic procedures, and you’ll have direct access to the nearby 24-hour Medivet Centre and regional network for additional support and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional patient care, carrying out RVN-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
  • Support surgical teams, consults, and advanced procedures including orthopaedics and laparoscopy
  • Manage patient monitoring, admissions, discharges, and ward care across separate dog, cat, and rabbit facilities
  • Ensure compliance with all RCVS regulatory, practice, and operational standards
  • Provide outstanding client communication and care throughout patient interactions
  • Contribute collaboratively to a supportive, high-performing nursing team

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Ideally 1–2 years’ UK veterinary nursing experience, though applicants at different career stages are welcome if confident and motivated to learn
  • Passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care
  • Team player with genuine commitment to supporting colleagues
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and skill development

Recently renovated, the clinic is now a modern, advanced facility designed to support both clinical excellence and team wellbeing. The practice is part of the Medivet network, which includes a nearby 24-hour emergency centre and multiple regional branches, providing practitioners with access to additional expertise, support, and learning opportunities.

The clinic is comprehensively equipped with digital X-ray, in-house laboratory, high-quality ultrasound, laparoscopy, endoscopy, dental suite with dental X-ray, orthopaedic equipment, capnography, and ventilators.
