Build a specialist ophthalmology caseload while still keeping one foot in general practice. This Medivet Anfield role offers a dedicated theatre, a network of around 30 referring clinics and a clear route towards a more ophthalmology focused position.
One-in-six weekend rota at Medivet Holder, with potential for a local run across the area.
Join Medivet Anfield and help develop ophthalmology services across Liverpool and Manchester. This is a strong opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon with an ophthalmology certificate, or someone nearing completion, to grow a specialist caseload and establish themselves as a key clinician across the network.
The role starts with a blend of ophthalmology and general practice, with the aim of moving towards a predominantly ophthalmology-focused position within the first three to six months. It is a 40-hour week and includes a one-in-six weekend rota at Medivet Holder, with potential for a local run across the area. There is also limited sole charge, so you will need to be confident with routine surgery and medical work.
Medivet Anfield is an established first-opinion practice with access to a dedicated ophthalmology theatre and investment in equipment and facilities, with input into what is introduced. Around 30 Medivet clinics feed into the service, creating the opportunity to develop a substantial referral caseload.
The role also sits within an in-house ophthalmology clinical community, giving access to mentors and a dedicated forum for sharing knowledge and developing the service further.
