This is a permanent full-time position offering a rare gem in UK veterinary practice: a genuine 4-day working week with no out-of-hours or bank holiday responsibilities. You'll split your time between two well-established Medivet practices in beautiful coastal Cornwall, working 40 hours per week with the only rota commitment being Saturday mornings (1 in 3, 8:30am to 12:30pm). Redruth, a historic Cornish town rich in Victorian heritage and creative culture, sits surrounded by countryside close to dramatic clifftops and beaches. St Ives, just a short drive away, is one of the UK's most picturesque seaside towns with golden beaches, artistic heritage and a relaxed coastal vibe. The St Ives practice sits steps from the town centre and beach with bay views from the windows, while Redruth offers on-site parking and a garden space for staff breaks.
Medivet is a leading UK and European veterinary care network with over 400 practices, including 24-hour centres and specialist referral hospitals. The Redruth practice is spacious and well-equipped with four consulting rooms, two theatres, ultrasound, dental x-ray, digital radiography, separate dog and cat isolation wards, on-site parking and staff garden. The practice holds Silver Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation. The St Ives practice, though more compact, is fully operational with two consulting rooms, equipped theatre and prep area, in-house haematology and biochemistry laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental equipment, separate kennels and parking.
The Redruth team comprises two Branch Partners, a highly skilled Head Nurse, experienced nursing team and longstanding support staff. The St Ives team includes a highly experienced Head Nurse, Registered Veterinary Nurse and Client Care Assistant. Across the wider Medivet collective, you'll network with seven experienced vets, several currently pursuing specialist certificates in Small Animal Medicine, Cardiology and Orthopaedics, creating a stimulating, collaborative environment with clear professional development pathways.
