About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position at a 24-hour hospital in Southend-on-Sea. You'll deliver exceptional clinical care across a diverse caseload in a fast-paced environment, supported by a large, experienced team. The role includes weekend and on-call rota participation. Candidates with an internal medicine and/or imaging bias are particularly welcome; those holding or working toward an advanced certificate in either discipline will be prioritised.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures, always prioritising patient welfare
- Provide clear, compassionate communication with clients about their pets' care and progress
- Prepare tailored treatment and care plans with accurate cost estimates for each patient
- Observe the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance
- Engage, mentor, and develop team members, enhancing their skills and supporting their growth
- Manage clinical handovers and arrange appropriate transfer of care for patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced treatment
- Proactively share and implement clinical best practice across Medivet practices
- Support nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, contributing to clinic performance and efficiency
- Participate in weekend and on-call rota as required
Requirements
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Proven experience delivering exceptional care to patients and clients
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Clinical leadership skills with experience implementing progressive clinical culture
- Experience using coaching and influencing skills to bring out the best in colleagues
- Strong understanding of nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures
- Internal medicine and/or imaging experience desirable; advanced certificate or commitment to pursuing one is a plus
