About the Role

This is a partnership opportunity across two well-established small animal practices in the picturesque Oxfordshire market towns of Wantage and Faringdon. You’ll work alongside current partner Danny Varian, taking ownership of these thriving clinics while benefiting from Medivet’s robust partnership framework and regional network support. Both towns sit on the edge of the Cotswolds with beautiful scenery and strong community ties—ideal for building a long-term practice you’re proud to lead.

You’ll operate with day-to-day autonomy while being part of a collaborative network of nearby partners who share cases, expertise, and mentorship. Clinical backup and out-of-hours support are provided through Medivet’s local emergency hub, ensuring you’re never isolated in your leadership. This is true ownership without having to do it all alone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations and clinical direction across both Wantage and Faringdon sites
  • Build and mentor a team of 5 veterinary surgeons and 20 support staff (combined across both locations)
  • Deliver high-quality first-opinion small animal care and maintain the established client bases at both well-regarded practices
  • Shape practice culture alongside Danny, with a focus on collaborative teamwork and positive working environment
  • Develop the clinics’ potential while maintaining the high ethical standards and medical excellence the practices are known for
  • Collaborate within Medivet’s wider partner network, sharing skills and cases as appropriate

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon with full registration
  • Proven clinical expertise and high medical standards
  • Leadership drive and ambition to own and grow your own practice
  • Strong team player who enjoys mentoring and collaborative working
  • Positive attitude and ethical values—personality fit is essential as the current team work closely and cohesively
  • Passion for community-focused care and client continuity
  • Business ownership experience is desirable but not essential; Medivet provides full operational support

Benefits

  • Uncapped profit share from day one—your earnings grow as the clinic grows, with partnership income typically exceeding employed vet salaries over time
  • Low initial investment—Medivet handles the heavy lifting of acquisition and setup
  • Guaranteed share buyback on exit—ensuring long-term financial security and a clear exit strategy when you decide to move on
  • Full operational support—HR, payroll, marketing, health & safety, and compliance managed by Medivet
  • Access to a community of 150+ Partners for learning, mentorship, and peer support
  • Clinical backup and OOH support through Medivet’s regional emergency hub
  • Autonomy with backing—you lead your practice your way, with Medivet’s resources behind you

About the Practice

Medivet Wantage and Medivet Faringdon are two thriving small animal practices operating as a partnership network across the beautiful Oxfordshire market towns. One site is large, the other medium-sized, both with well-established and loyal client bases built over years of trusted service. Together, they support 5 veterinary surgeons and a team of 20 staff who are close-knit, collaborative, and genuinely enjoy working together—evident from their regular social events and positive working culture.

Both practices are part of Medivet’s Partner-led regional network model, which provides clinical and operational support while allowing partners to maintain autonomy and direct ownership of their clinics. Medivet is a leading UK veterinary group, and this partnership structure offers the best of both worlds: the security and backing of a larger organisation, with the personal ownership and reward of running your own practice.
