1 night on call every 3 weeks and 1 in 5 weekends for most vets. Dedicated RVN on until 10:30 pm to triage calls and look after inpatients, with another RVN on call overnight for backup.
Millcroft Vets is seeking an experienced small animal vet to join its team in Cockermouth. The role offers a genuine 4-day week, with consulting and operating balanced across the rota, plus time built in for admin and calls, and a last consult at 5.45pm.
You will be supported by a large, knowledgeable team with certificate holders in surgery, medicine, ECC, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, behaviour and exotics. The practice is known for its mentoring culture, regular clinical discussions and a strong track record of supporting vets at different stages of their career, including recent graduates.
The role is based within a six-branch practice, with a central hub in Cockermouth providing 24-hour care and branches in Workington, Keswick, Aspatria, Maryport and Egremont. The setting also brings the benefit of life in the Lake District, with outdoor access and scenic surroundings right on the doorstep.
