About the Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity to direct the strategic and operational future of Moorview Vets' multi-site group, including a main hospital and specialist dental facility. As Director of Practice, you will work closely with Senior Vets, Senior Nurses, the Customer Care Lead, and central support teams to deliver outstanding patient care while building a high-performing, engaged workforce. Located in Backworth, just outside Newcastle, you'll enjoy the perfect blend of city convenience and Northeast coastal livingābeautiful coastline and vibrant culture on your doorstep.
This full-time, Monday to Friday role (9amā5:30pm) includes occasional Saturday and evening work as required. The team here is genuinely collaborative and supportive; working together is part of everyday culture, and that extends beyond the practice walls too.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operational, commercial, and people performance across five sites (main hospital and specialist dental facility)
- Set strategic direction and execute annual business plans; drive performance monitoring and best-practice sharing
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and create an engaging, high-performance environment with effective resource planning and development
- Manage full P&L and deliver budgetary goals while driving sustainable growth
- Support high clinical standards and governance compliance, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
- Lead client engagement and retention strategies
- Drive continuous improvement and change initiatives, engaging teams in shared goals
Requirements
- Proven senior leadership experience with accountability for operational and commercial performance
- Strong financial and business management capability, including P&L oversight and planning experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams
- Experience leading through change and driving cultural or transformational initiatives
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- People-centred leadership approach with strong commercial acumen
