About the Role

Myerscough Veterinary Group is seeking an enthusiastic and team-focused Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its clinical team on a full-time basis. You’ll work across a network of well-equipped dental hub pilot branches in Lancashire, delivering high-quality nursing care to a diverse caseload in a supportive primary care environment. This full-time position runs 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, with a manageable 1:4 weekend rota.

Lancashire itself offers excellent lifestyle appeal—vibrant towns, beautiful countryside, and easy access to Manchester, Liverpool, and the Lake District. The practice is fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house blood analysers, and comprehensive dental equipment with radiography, giving you excellent opportunities to develop practical dentistry skills while delivering outstanding clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient care and support across the clinical team
  • Assist with theatre duties and surgical nursing
  • Support imaging procedures including digital radiography
  • Manage laboratory work and diagnostic support
  • Conduct nurse consultations and client communication
  • Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons to maintain clinical standards
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of patient care practices across multiple branches

Requirements

  • RCVS Registration as a Veterinary Nurse (essential)
  • Experience working in clinical practice with developing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and effective workload management
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
  • Team-orientated mindset with enthusiasm for delivering high standards of care

About the Practice

Myerscough Veterinary Group operates as part of IVC Evidensia, the UK and Europe’s leading veterinary care group comprising over 900 practices and referral hospitals. The group runs a network of companion animal surgeries across Lancashire (including branches in Clitheroe, Padiham, Oswaldtwistle, Great Harwood, Haslingden, Bacup, Preston, and others), with most offering evening appointments until 6pm weekdays and weekend consultations at selected locations. The Clayton Le Dale site operates extended hours with 24-hour emergency cover. The group also maintains a dedicated farm vet team serving the Ribble Valley and beyond, with four equipped ambulance vehicles for inter-branch patient transfers.
