🕐 Schedule & Rota

Standard rota consists of early and late shifts between 8:30am-8:30pm weekdays, Saturdays 8:30am-6:30pm, and Sundays 10:30am-4:30pm.

About the Role

This is a full-time position offering 40 hours per week on a rota basis. You’ll work a mix of early and late shifts between 8:30am–8:30pm on weekdays, with Saturdays 8:30am–6:30pm and Sundays 10:30am–4:30pm. The newly refurbished New Malden practice is bright, spacious, and air-conditioned—built to industry-leading standards with digital X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities. You’ll be at the heart of the practice, supporting colleagues and ensuring every client and patient receives exceptional care.

Your role bridges clinical and client-facing work. You’ll handle non-clinical duties that keep the practice running smoothly, greet clients with warmth and professionalism, and support the team in delivering outstanding pet healthcare. This is an ideal stepping stone for anyone serious about progressing in veterinary medicine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming and friendly reception for clients and their pets
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards across the practice
  • Handle animal handling under guidance from qualified colleagues
  • Support administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, client records, and general office duties
  • Keep up-to-date with practice services and additional offerings so you can provide informed guidance to clients
  • Work calmly and attentively to prioritise clients’ needs in all situations
  • Contribute to a welcoming team atmosphere and positive practice culture

Requirements

  • Experience as a Veterinary Care Assistant or with animals is advantageous but not essential
  • A friendly, welcoming demeanour and genuine passion for helping people and their pets
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in varied situations—from comforting distressed clients to celebrating new puppy visits
  • Strong communication skills and attention to client needs
  • Enthusiasm, reliability, and a “can-do” attitude
  • Willingness to embrace a dynamic, fast-paced environment
