Oakham Veterinary Hospital is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team on a full-time basis, with part-time applications also considered from 32 hours per week. You’ll be based in a long-established small animal hospital on the outskirts of Oakham, working in a purpose-built environment with extensive facilities and diagnostic equipment.
This is a role for a nurse who enjoys being involved across the full range of veterinary nursing. The practice has a clinical association with the University of Nottingham Vet School, access to leading specialists, and certificate holders across small animal surgery, medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics and advanced nursing, including anaesthesia. Although it is a first opinion practice, it also provides referral services for cardiology and orthopaedic cases.
The rota is clearly structured too. You’ll work 40 hours per week, with rotating shifts Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 8:30pm. Weekends are 1 in 6, with full days on Saturday and Sunday, plus two days off in lieu after a full weekend. The role also includes participation in the out-of-hours rota to cover absences from the core Night Nurse team.
