2-in-15 weekend rota (one weekend covers Saturday day and Sunday morning; the second weekend covers Saturday day only). No night shifts or overnight on-call. Emergency cover provided by Vets Now partnership.
This is a diverse and rewarding small animal position where you'll encounter a varied caseload of routine and emergency medical and surgical cases. No two days are the same. The practice is flexible and can tailor the role to suit your preferences, including the option for consult-only work, dedicated operating days, or structured surgical development with one-to-one guidance.
You'll work with a fantastic team of experienced vets and fully qualified RVNs. As an independent practice, you have the freedom to work up cases the way you want, supported by directors who are actively working clinicians. There's no out-of-hours commitment; the practice partners with Vets Now for emergency cover. Weekend work is genuinely shared on a 2-in-15 rota, with flexibility built into how those weekends are structured.
Oakhill Veterinary Centre is an independent small animal practice in Lancashire, part of the XLVets community. The practice is director-led by working veterinarians who actively invest in the business for the benefit of patients and staff.
