This part-time Animal Care Auxiliary role at PDSA Huyton is offered on a 3-month fixed-term contract. You'll work two 12-hour night shifts from 8:00pm to 8:00am, followed by four days off, with additional hours sometimes needed to cover holidays.
You'll be supporting inpatients overnight, helping keep the hospital clean, safe and hygienic, assisting with animal handling, and carrying out practical tasks for the team. Reception duties may also form part of your week, including calm and sympathetic communication with clients.
The role suits someone who is reliable, resilient, confident using initiative, and committed to animal welfare. Depending on the needs of the hospital, you may be working as part of a small team or on your own at times, so you should be comfortable knowing when to escalate concerns.
