About the Role

This is a structured graduate veterinary surgeon position within PDSA's dedicated 2026 programme, starting 1st September at PDSA Coventry. You'll work a five-day week (37.5 hours), with one day each week dedicated to professional development alongside hands-on clinical experience. This is your launchpad into a rewarding veterinary career, combining mentored clinical practice with a supportive learning community.

You'll encounter diverse real-life cases in busy PDSA Pet Hospitals, from routine check-ups to life-saving surgeries. Your work directly serves families who might otherwise struggle to afford veterinary care, giving your role genuine purpose beyond the clinical skills you'll develop.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on clinical care across a diverse caseload under mentor guidance
• Contribute to PDSA's mission of providing expert veterinary treatment to pets whose families face financial hardship
• Participate in the Graduate Development Programme including weekly workshops and online CPD modules
• Engage with mentors and the dedicated Graduate Development Programme Advisor
• Develop professional skills in communication, resilience, teamwork, and clinical decision-making

Requirements

• BVSc, BVetMed, or BVMS qualification (newly qualified or recent graduate)
• RCVS registration or eligibility for registration
• Genuine commitment to PDSA's charitable mission and working with disadvantaged communities
