Ready to lead clinical excellence at a charity where every day makes a real difference? PDSA's Sheffield Pet Hospital is looking for an experienced Senior Vet to mentor colleagues, take on complex cases, and help shape the future of veterinary care for pets whose owners need it most.
This is a full-time permanent role at PDSA's Sheffield Pet Hospital, a modern, collaborative facility serving the local community with compassionate small animal care. As Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you'll lead on clinical cases, mentor colleagues, and help embed high standards across the team. No two days are the same: you'll see a broad range of medical and surgical presentations, from routine cases to complex workups, all while making a tangible difference to pets and owners facing financial hardship.
You'll be a visible, approachable senior clinician who thrives on variety, enjoys supporting colleagues with second opinions, and brings calm judgment to decision-making. Your strong communication skills will help you build trust with pet owners, explain treatment plans clearly, and collaborate closely with the wider clinical and client service teams to deliver joined-up, compassionate care.
PDSA is the UK's leading veterinary charity, providing vital care for over 470,000 pets annually across its network of Pet Hospitals. For over a century, PDSA has supported pets belonging to people in financial hardship, treating over 2.7 million cases each year. The organisation is on an ambitious expansion journey to reach even more pets and owners who need its help.
Sheffield Pet Hospital is a modern, well-equipped facility with separate dog and cat kennelling, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment. The team is highly collaborative with varied clinical interests, creating a supportive environment for case discussion and shared learning. PDSA is committed to diversity, inclusion, and flexible working arrangements that reflect the communities it serves.
