Lead a collaborative surgical team at a charity hospital that genuinely values your development. PDSA's Bow hospital offers modern facilities, flexible shifts, and the chance to shape clinical leadership in small animal practice.
Approximately one weekend in every seven to eight, with enhanced pay and time off in lieu
You'll join PDSA's Bow and Ilford hospitals as a Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader, holding clinical governance responsibility and leading the veterinary team to deliver professional, caring service to pets and owners in the local community. This role suits an experienced vet with a surgical bias who takes a medical, pragmatic approach, focusing on evidence-based options and the best plan for each patient and owner.
The role offers flexible shift patterns with hours between 8:30am and 8:00pm Monday to Friday, plus approximately one weekend in every seven to eight for which you'll receive enhanced pay and time off in lieu. You'll work alongside a highly collaborative team with varied clinical interests, giving you access to a wide pool of knowledge when discussing cases and treatment plans.
PDSA is the UK's leading veterinary charity, providing vital veterinary care for the pets of people in financial hardship. For over a century, PDSA has been making a difference, with over 470,000 pets receiving help each year and 2.7 million treatments provided to prevent suffering and death.
The Bow and Ilford hospitals are modern, well-equipped facilities with separate dog and cat kennelling, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment. The teams are collaborative and supportive, creating a great environment for teamwork, case discussion and shared learning.
