Senior Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

You'll be leading clinically at Pennard Vets' Tonbridge location, a truly independent practice serving Kent. This is a rare opportunity to bring your own ideas to life and influence how the practice develops, with a clear progression path to more responsibility. You'll work a 4-day week with protected admin time, and a manageable Saturday rota (up to 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, no overnight on-call).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and set high standards for the Tonbridge team
• Mentor colleagues and develop their clinical confidence
• Take ownership of cases from diagnosis through follow-up, leveraging the full range of in-house diagnostics and facilities
• Contribute ideas and shape business decisions over time
• Support referral cases to the on-site MRI/CT and overnight hospital when needed

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a veterinary surgeon
• Clinical confidence and the ability to instil confidence in others
• High standards you're comfortable communicating and enforcing
• Appetite to develop the role and influence practice direction

Benefits

• Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 per annum, with clear progression opportunity

Pennard Vets is an independent, Kent-only practice with a reputation for success stories. The Tonbridge location is equipped with dental X-ray, ultrasound, lap spay kit, digital cytology, in-house labs, and their own ambulance. When cases need advanced imaging or critical care, the MRI/CT suite and overnight hospital are just 20 minutes away. The practice prioritises unlimited client consultations, fostering continuity and deep professional relationships.
