Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a Veterinary Surgeon role with Pennard Vets in Maidstone, where you will be joining an experienced small animal team and working a four-day week, including a Saturday rota. The position is built around clinical continuity, with the opportunity to follow cases from first consultation through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.

You will be working with a varied and interesting caseload, supported by experienced colleagues and strong nursing input. The practice also offers 15-minute consultations, protected administration time and no overnight out-of-hours requirements, with dedicated out-of-hours cover provided by Pennard's emergency team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage small animal cases from initial consultation through to diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
• Work across a wide range of medical and surgical cases, including complex surgical procedures performed on site.
• Contribute to a collaborative branch team and share ideas that help shape the future direction of the practice.
• Work closely with experienced veterinary and nursing colleagues, including nurse-led clinics and strong nursing support.
• Maintain continuity of care while delivering 15-minute consultations.

• Experience as a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon.
• Strong clinical standards and sound judgement.
• Interest in seeing cases through from diagnosis to outcome.
• Willingness to keep learning and developing professionally.
• Open to new ideas and continuous improvement.
• Enjoy working collaboratively within a close-knit team.
• Interest in contributing to the ongoing development of the practice.

• Salary of £40,000 to £50,000 DOE.
