Ready to make a real difference for rescued animals? Join Block Fen Animal Centre as an apprentice and help traumatised cats, dogs and small animals rebuild trust and find their forever homes.
You'll be at the heart of animal rescue at Block Fen Animal Centre, working on an 18-month fixed-term apprenticeship. This is hands-on, meaningful work caring for animals rescued from cruelty and neglect, helping them recover and prepare for adoption. The role combines practical animal care with formal Level 3 qualification training, with 20% of your 35-hour week dedicated to study.
Block Fen houses over 60 cats, more than 40 dogs (many in long-term care during court proceedings), and a variety of small animals including birds, goats, budgies and chickens. Your days will be physically active and sometimes challenging, but deeply rewarding. You'll work a two-week rolling rota including every other weekend, with hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm (one hour unpaid lunch), plus bank holiday cover.
