Ready to make a real difference to rescued animals? Join the RSPCA Gonsal Farm team for an 18-month apprenticeship where you'll help animals recover from trauma and find their forever homes.
You'll be at the heart of the RSPCA's mission at Gonsal Farm Animal Centre, caring for rescued animals as they recover from neglect and cruelty. This is a full-time, 35-hour apprenticeship over 18 months, with 20% of your time dedicated to your qualification. Working a 2-week rolling rota including every other weekend (study time cannot fall on weekend days), your hours are 8:30am to 5:15pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch, except for two Thursdays a month when you'll start at 8:15am. Bank holidays are part of the working calendar.
Based in rural Shropshire, Gonsal Farm is home to more than 60 cats, over 30 dogs, and a variety of small animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice and ferrets. You'll be part of a dedicated team helping these animals rebuild trust and prepare for adoption into caring homes.
The RSPCA is a leading UK charity dedicated to animal welfare, with centres across England and Wales. Gonsal Farm Animal Centre specialises in rehabilitating rescued farm animals and companion animals from cruelty cases. The team includes animal care staff, behaviour and welfare advisors, and veterinary support.
The RSPCA is committed to building a diverse workforce and actively encourages applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly those from minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities. Reasonable adjustments are available throughout the recruitment process.
