Ready to make a real difference in animal welfare? Join the RSPCA as an Animal Rescue Officer and respond to cruelty and neglect across Hampshire, working independently with the support of an experienced team.
As an Animal Rescue Officer with the RSPCA, you'll respond to reports of animal cruelty, neglect, and injury across Hampshire, working to prevent suffering through education, advice, and intervention where necessary. This is deeply meaningful work with direct, visible impact on animal welfare and community safety.
The role involves significant independent fieldwork and frequent motorway driving (up to 150 miles per day), serving diverse communities across towns, cities, suburbs, and rural areas. While you'll work alone most of the time, you remain closely connected to a supportive and experienced team. You'll receive comprehensive training, equipment, and guidance to work safely and confidently. The work can be physically and emotionally demanding, but the RSPCA is committed to your wellbeing with access to mental health resources, inclusive policies, and ongoing development opportunities.
You'll engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds in emotionally charged situations, requiring calm communication, quick thinking, and strong influencing skills to de-escalate heightened emotions while remaining professional and empathetic.
The RSPCA is the UK's leading animal welfare charity, working to prevent cruelty and improve animal lives across England and Wales.
