You'll work as part of a dedicated team caring for rescued animals at Ashley Heath Animal Centre, supporting their recovery and rehabilitation before they find new homes. This is a full-time apprenticeship role working 35 hours per week, with 20% of your time dedicated to your qualification. The role operates on a two-week rolling rota that includes every other weekend, with hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm plus one unpaid hour lunch break. Bank holiday working is also required.
The centre cares for a diverse range of animals including over 40 cats, 30 dogs, and various small domestic pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents and birds. Many of these animals have experienced trauma and neglect, requiring patient, compassionate handling as they recover and prepare for adoption.
