About the Role
This is a hybrid Fundraising Events Manager role within the RSPCA’s Events, Engagement and Income Generation team. You’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering a portfolio of fundraising and engagement events that raise income, expand supporter reach and help more people connect with the charity’s work.
The position is based in Horsham, West Sussex or London, with working hours of 35 per week, Monday to Friday. You’ll be developing ideas, checking feasibility, planning delivery, supporting marketing activity and evaluating results, while also managing budgets, income targets, suppliers and risk.
You’ll also lead and develop a small team and work closely with colleagues across fundraising, marketing, digital, data and insight, as well as RSPCA branches, animal centres and community groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a portfolio of fundraising and engagement events.
- Turn event ideas into workable plans through feasibility, delivery and evaluation.
- Manage event budgets, income targets, suppliers and risk.
- Work with marketing, digital, data and insight colleagues to support participation.
- Build relationships with RSPCA branches, animal centres, community groups and other teams across the organisation.
- Oversee event management plans, including risk assessments, health and safety, contingency planning and major incident planning.
- Support, lead and develop a small team.
- Ensure events meet relevant legislation and fundraising standards.
Requirements
- Recent and relevant experience in fundraising events, challenge or activity event promotion, charity events, sales or marketing.
- A proven track record of planning and managing successful and profitable fundraising events.
- Experience creating and implementing event strategies that grow income and supporter engagement.
- Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing external suppliers, agencies and contractors, including contracts and service level agreements.
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and with external partners, branches, community groups or similar networks.
- Experience using online fundraising and donation platforms such as JustGiving.
- Confidence to present, facilitate workshops and deliver training or guidance.
- Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- A methodical approach with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
