About the Role
The RSPCA is seeking a Senior Finance Process Manager to lead the modernisation and optimisation of its financial operations. This is a 12-month fixed-term position based at the London Blackfriars Hub, operating on a hybrid basis with flexibility around your needs and operational requirements. You'll work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As a catalyst for change within the finance function, you'll partner with Finance and wider business teams to identify opportunities for efficiency, strengthen financial controls, and deliver sustainable improvements. One day you might be implementing a new finance workflow in Sage, Halo, or iTrent; another you could be redesigning end-to-end processes for retail stock management, supplier onboarding, expenses transformation, or finance integrations linked to animal welfare systems. Your role spans scoping and process mapping through testing, training, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end finance process improvement and transformation initiatives across the organisation
- Analyse complex financial processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend practical solutions balancing operational and financial requirements
- Work with finance systems and technology solutions, including system implementation, optimisation, and integration projects (Sage, Halo, iTrent)
- Manage change initiatives from initial scoping and stakeholder engagement through testing, implementation, training, and post-implementation support
- Partner with operational teams to redesign processes supporting key projects such as retail stock management, supplier onboarding, and expenses transformation
- Ensure financial processes remain efficient, compliant, and fit for purpose while helping colleagues embrace new technology
- Engage stakeholders across the RSPCA and external partners to drive collaboration and buy-in for improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience leading finance process improvement and transformation initiatives
- Strong understanding of financial operations, controls, governance, and compliance requirements
- Experience working with finance systems and technology solutions, including system implementation and integration projects
- Ability to analyse complex processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated change management experience from scoping through implementation and support
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Strong project management and organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Continuous improvement mindset with enthusiasm for leveraging technology
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex financial and technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Confidence to challenge existing ways of working and influence positive change
- Legal right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available)
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required for this role
