About the Role
This is a non-veterinary, corporate marketing position within the RSPCA's central fundraising function. The role is based on a hybrid model, working primarily from home with approximately 4 days per month at either the South East Regional Hub in Horsham, West Sussex, or the London Hub at Blackfriars. The position operates with flexible core hours of 10:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, allowing you to start between 8:00am and 10:00am and finish between 3:00pm and 6:00pm, as long as the 35-hour working week is completed.
You will report directly to the Donor Recruitment Lead and manage a small team of marketing executives and a marketing manager. Your focus will be on planning, delivering, and innovating paid digital campaigns across multiple giving products including Regular Giving, Cash, and Lottery, alongside offline Door Drop and Inserts campaigns. The role involves leading a team to create highly emotive direct response content that connects audiences with the RSPCA's animal welfare mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute acquisition strategy across paid digital media channels including Meta, Demand Gen, YouTube, Performance Max, Microsoft Audience Network, and PPC, as well as offline Door Drops and Inserts, with continuous optimisation and testing
- Line-manage, coach, and develop your marketing team, focusing on wellbeing and providing training, tools, and processes for growth and success
- Maintain high-performing relationships with external media-buying, creative, and partner agencies
- Foster collaborative working with internal stakeholders across the RSPCA to share performance insights and build high-performing donation journeys
- Manage a multi-million-pound donor acquisition budget, tracking campaign performance monthly and providing robust financial commentary
- Remain up-to-date with trade bodies, legislation, and compliance requirements pertaining to direct marketing, fundraising, and data protection
Requirements
- In-depth specialist knowledge of direct response marketing within a fundraising environment with proven experience managing high-performing multi-media acquisition campaigns
- Deep expertise in paid digital media channels such as Meta, Google/PPC, and YouTube
- Proven experience line-managing, coaching, and developing a marketing or fundraising team
- Patient, empathetic leadership style with the ability to foster a supportive growth culture and manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical, data-driven mindset with ability to translate complex marketing metrics into actionable strategic insights
- Proven track record executing robust testing frameworks and continuous campaign optimisation across channels
- Values alignment with the RSPCA's mission to create a better world for animals and demonstrate deep empathy for animal welfare causes
