About the Role
The RSPCA is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex fundraising initiatives within its Strategy and Transformation directorate. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract based on a hybrid model, splitting your time between the London or Horsham office and remote working. You'll take charge of the North Site Fundraising Campaign, a substantial project requiring meticulous data management, cross-team coordination, and stakeholder influence at the highest levels. Your focus will be on translating campaign vision into delivery excellence, managing budgets and timelines whilst nurturing relationships with donors and internal teams.
This role offers significant scope for leadership in a mission-driven organisation. You'll work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, within a matrix structure that values collaboration and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complex North Site Fundraising Campaign and concurrent projects, delivering against quality, cost, and timeline targets
- Collate and analyse critical campaign data including costs, timelines, and impact case studies to inform strategy
- Coordinate integrated campaign plans across multiple teams to maximise funding opportunities
- Ensure all project work aligns with the Change Portfolio Office standards and governance requirements
- Manage project scope, budgets, and expenditure forecasts with rigorous financial control
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks and dependencies, establishing formal governance structures
- Lead virtual and matrix teams, setting clear objectives and ensuring accountability to delivery milestones
- Provide strategic stakeholder communication to internal executives, Board level, and external donors
- Support the Philanthropy Team in building and maintaining donor relationships
Requirements
- Proven track record leading large-scale charity projects worth £500k or more
- Demonstrable experience managing major fundraising appeals with measurable outcomes for the cause
- Complete expertise across the full project lifecycle, from initiation through business cases and delivery
- Experience implementing project governance frameworks to manage scope, time, and budget
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all organisational levels
- Strong leadership capability to motivate and unite diverse, cross-functional teams
- Experience delivering capital projects and/or major fundraising appeals is desirable but not essential
- Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
- Successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
