About the Role
You'll join South Wales Vets as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in a varied, high-energy small animal environment. This role spans emergency cases, surgical procedures, and inpatient care—no two days are the same. The practice operates over 4 days per week (40 hours), with shifts between 8:30 am and 7:00 pm, plus a 1:4 Saturday rota (9 am–2 pm). Based in the picturesque Blackwood area, you'll work alongside a tight-knit team of 2 veterinary surgeons, 3 other RVNs, and 2 receptionists.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage emergency and surgical cases with clinical confidence and attention to detail
- Provide skilled inpatient care and monitoring, including use of capnography and laboratory equipment
- Support diagnostic imaging procedures (digital X-ray and ultrasound)
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary surgeon and nursing team during complex procedures
- Contribute to a high standard of patient care and client communication
Requirements
- Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
- Experience in small animal practice (emergency/surgical caseload preferred)
- Strong clinical and practical nursing skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
