About the Role
Sunninghill Vets is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to become an integral part of their clinical team. Established in 2006, this well-equipped practice is known for exceptional care, clinical excellence, and a personal approach to every animal that walks through the door. You'll be working Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm (40 hours per week), with no out-of-hours commitments—perfect for work-life balance.
The practice sees a varied first opinion caseload, including some more complex orthopaedic surgeries, and you'll work alongside experienced veterinary surgeons and a friendly, established team who genuinely take the time to do things properly. Modern in-house diagnostics and a calm, welcoming environment mean you'll be delivering care that truly makes a difference to patients and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for hospitalised patients and monitor anaesthetics during surgical procedures
- Prepare animals for surgery, including clipping and aseptic preparation
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinary surgeons
- Assist with diagnostic procedures including radiography, blood sampling, and laboratory tests
- Support excellent client experiences and contribute to clinical standards across the practice
- Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to develop ongoing patient care
Requirements
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
- Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
- Team-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for delivering high standards of care
