About the Role

Taverham Veterinary Hospital is in an exciting growth phase, and they’re looking for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their large, collaborative clinical team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC). This is a 4-day week role (38.5 hours) with a shared weekend rota and crucially, no out-of-hours commitments—giving you genuine work-life balance.

You’ll be working in a modern, well-resourced hospital equipped with a CT scanner, four operating theatres, dedicated cat and dog wards, isolation facilities, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy services. The practice also runs branch locations at Longwater Lane and Bure Valley, so you’ll gain exposure to varied first opinion cases and may occasionally support across the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing support during anaesthesia, surgery, and diagnostic procedures
  • Deliver compassionate inpatient care and continuous patient monitoring
  • Run nurse-led consultations and offer preventative healthcare advice to clients
  • Assist with laboratory work and diagnostic processes
  • Support the clinical team across hospital and branch settings when required
  • Contribute to maintaining and developing clinical standards within the practice

Requirements

  • RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Clinical practice experience with developing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and genuine rapport-building ability with clients and colleagues
  • Solid organisational skills and effective workload management
  • Proactive mindset toward learning, reflection, and continuous professional improvement
