Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This is a full-time position offering exactly what many RVNs search for: a daytime-only role with no weekend or out-of-hours commitments. You’ll work 40 hours per week in a large, well-equipped stand-alone facility where the focus is on delivering excellent patient care without the burnout.

Unlike roles where you’re confined to one department, you’ll be part of the whole patient journey—from initial consultation through to recovery. This gives you genuine variety and the satisfaction of seeing cases through from start to finish, working across anaesthesia, in-patient care, nurse clinics, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide surgical nursing support and perioperative care
• Manage in-patient monitoring and recovery protocols
• Run dedicated nurse clinics and deliver client education
• Communicate with clients throughout their pet’s care pathway
• Work collaboratively with a team of experienced vets and nurses

Requirements

• RCVS registered veterinary nurse
• Confidence in surgical nursing, in-patient care, and client support
• Strong communication skills and a positive team-focused approach
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and delivering excellent patient outcomes

About the Practice

Vets for Pets operates a large, stand-alone small animal facility in Bristol (BS30 9DD)—not located within a retail unit. The practice is well-equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical equipment including x-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitoring, capnography, v-gels, and the latest blood testing machines. The team is built on collaborative working and mutual support among experienced vets and nurses.
