About the Role

The Beeches is a long-established, RCVS-accredited small animal practice in Melksham, a well-connected market town just a short drive from the Cotswolds, Longleat, and Stonehenge. This is a full-time position (part-time candidates welcome) with no out-of-hours requirements—a genuine rarity in practice. You’ll work daytime consultations and surgical cases with real clinical freedom to follow your own patients, plus supportive backup whenever you need it.

The team is easy-going but hardworking: experienced vets, five fully qualified RVNs, a student nurse, and receptionists, all led by an experienced and supportive Practice Director. Whether you’re newly qualified or have a few years under your belt, they’re genuinely keen to support your development and encourage special interests and further qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality small animal consultations and perform surgical procedures
  • Take clinical responsibility for your own cases with supportive backup available
  • Some Saturday morning cover and occasional sole-charge duties (as required)
  • Contribute to a collaborative, collegial team environment
  • Engage with in-practice training and CPD opportunities

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon (RCVS registered)
  • Confident, friendly approach with a strong team ethic
  • No specific experience level required—recently qualified through to experienced vets welcome
  • Willingness to develop special interests and pursue further learning

About the Practice

The Beeches Veterinary Centre was established by Trevor and Jill Warner and is now part of IVC Evidensia, a global veterinary network with over 2,500 clinics and hospitals in 20 countries. The practice is a modern, well-equipped single-site facility specialising in small animal care with a reputation for exceptional clinical standards and genuine commitment to staff wellbeing and development.

The team comprises four veterinary surgeons, five fully qualified RVNs, one student RVN, two animal nursing assistants, and three receptionists. The practice is RCVS accredited and committed to high-quality patient care and supportive client services.
