A rare position at a thriving London practice with a close-knit, experienced team and a genuine work-life balance. Join The Hackney Vet on a four-day week with supportive colleagues who've stayed for over a decade.
1 in 4 Saturday rota, time-off-in-lieu basis
This is an exceptional opportunity to join The Hackney Vet, a highly respected small animal practice in Hackney. Positions here are genuinely rare due to the strength and stability of the existing team. You'll be working as a GP vet with a focus on medicine and ultrasound alongside six experienced vets, bringing your own clinical interests to a collaborative environment.
The role is full-time across four days a week (40 hours), with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota on a time-off-in-lieu basis. The practice is exceptionally well equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, and comprehensive facilities including four consultation rooms, a theatre, prep room, and separate dog and cat kennels and wards. Located in vibrant Hackney with excellent transport links via Hackney and Homerton stations, you'll be surrounded by independent restaurants, coffee shops, and bars.
The Hackney Vet is part of DNA Vetcare, a proudly independent group of multi-award-winning surgeries founded in 2006. The practice was established by veterinary surgeons Alan van Heerden and Dane Walker, who bring years of experience from high-quality practices across London and Kent. The team prioritises compassionate care, clinical excellence, and a supportive workplace culture. The Head RVN has been with the practice since its opening, and the majority of the team has worked together for over ten years, creating a genuinely stable and harmonious working environment.
