
A varied Animal Care Auxiliary role with client care, reception work and hands-on support for the Veterinary Surgeon or RVN across the Maple branches. The rota includes 40 hours a week, weekend shifts at the main hospital in St Helens, and bank holidays on a rota basis.
This Animal Care Auxiliary position is based across the Maple branches in Penketh, Grappenhall and Halton View, with weekend shifts covered at the main site in St Helens. It is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, with 1 Saturday in 4 time given back in lieu and 1 paid Sunday in 4.
Your work will focus on client care and support for the Veterinary Surgeon or RVN, including restraint of patients and laboratory tests. You will also handle reception duties, insurance forms, weekly debtor’s lists, opening and closing the branches, and communicating with the teams at the other branches and the main hospital.
Mon to Fri shifts run across the Maple sites from 8:30am to 6:30pm. Weekends are worked as 1 full weekend in 4 at the main hospital, with shifts ranging from 7am to 3pm, 8:30am to 4:30pm, or 10:30am to 6:30pm. Bank holidays are on a rota basis, with a minimum of 1 per year, and cover at other surgeries may also be required.
The role is with Rutland House Veterinary Hospital, Penketh, part of VetPartners. The Maple branches include Penketh and Grappenhall in Warrington, and Halton View in Widnes, with the main hospital in St Helens offering 24/7 support.
