Animal Care Auxiliary

About the Role

This is a part-time Animal Care Auxiliary role based across Maple branches in Penketh and Grappenhall, Warrington. The work is centred on client care and practical support for the Veterinary Surgeon or RVN, with weekend shifts based at the main 24 hour hospital in St Helens.

You will be covering a varied branch position that includes reception duties, maintaining cleanliness, insurance forms, weekly debtors lists, and helping with patient restraint, inpatient care and laboratory tests. The role also includes opening and closing the branch and keeping in touch with the teams at the main hospital.

Branch cover may occasionally be needed at other surgeries, although this is not routine.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Veterinary Surgeon or RVN with patient restraint, inpatient care and laboratory tests.
• Handle client care and reception duties across the Maple branches.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the branch.
• Complete insurance forms and weekly debtors lists.
• Open and close the branch and liaise with the main hospital team.
• Cover weekend shifts at the main hospital in St Helens.
• Provide occasional cover at other surgeries when required.

Requirements

• Passion for delivering high standards of care to clients and their pets.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work as part of both a large and small team.
